OUR IDEA.
Coffee festivals used to be so fun. They were the place where everything connected. Roasters met customers, baristas met farmers. Everyone got in a room together and just… got stuck in. We tried incredible coffees, chatted nonsense, and learnt stuff without even realising.
It felt easy.
We still love going to festivals - we always will - but over time we’ve noticed things shift a bit. They’ve gotten expensive. For customers - but especially for exhibitors. Stands cost loads, travel costs loads, and suddenly there’s this pressure to sell sell sell just to make the weekend make sense. Which means some roasters and farmers just can’t come anymore - or don’t want to, which is such a shame because that’s kind of the whole point.
So we kept coming back to the same idea again and again: What if we just put all the coffee people in a room again… and took the pressure off?
No ticket sales. No exhibitor fees. No barriers. Just good people, making and sharing really good coffee. So that’s what Bloomtown is.
We’ve invited some of our absolute favourite roasters - people we rate, people we’re excited about - and told them to just come and do what they do best and have fun with it. This is hopefully the first of many years to come, and we’ll only grow and add to the lineup.
In the meantime, 2026 is bringing you:
Panel talks led by absolute icons of the speciality coffee scene
Cuppings with producers and importers in a dedicated room
Loads of very, very good coffee.
This whole thing is pretty simple. We’re two coffee businesses who happen to have access to a big hall - the Rose Lipman Building - and we’ve been saying for a while now: we should just put a free coffee festival on here. So we did.
Batch Baby Coffee
Batch Baby is Tom and Saskia. Married couple, long-time baristas, been in coffee for years. Opened in 2021 and basically built around the idea that coffee should be fun, approachable, and actually enjoyable to be around.
Coborn Coffee
Coborn is Justin and Kenny. Deep in the coffee world, serious about quality, but also just really care about the people and the culture around it.
We’ve also got Flo, Nathan and Hayden involved - some of our favourite people to work with and exactly the kind of energy we want this thing to have.
We’re not an events company.
We’re not trying to make this into something massive and polished.
We’re just doing it because we love it.
So we might be a bit slow on emails sometimes, but we care a lot about making this feel right. And we’re right on track to make this the best coffee festival the Rose Lipman building has ever seen.
